Advocate for a public health assessment: Scores from the World Health Organization (WHO) Joint External Evaluation (JEE) reports and the GHS Index reflect different assessments of health security, and the two can be used together to create a more complete picture of global preparedness. The JEE reports result from a collaborative and multisectoral process that countries can volunteer to undertake to assess their compliance with the standards that have been agreed upon by the international community. While using many of the same standards, the GHS Index is an involuntary, independent assessment that gives additional weight to capabilities (in addition to capacities), background indicators, and government transparency.
